La Mostra Permanente "I diorami dell'Annunziata" di Cupra Marittima, luogo ricco di storia e di spiritualità, si trova nella chiesa della SS. Annunziata all’interno di Borgo di Marano. Si tra tratta di una vera e propria opera d’arte che si estende per una superficie di 90 mq; le prime scene sono state realizzate nel Natale 1976 da un gruppo di amici presepisti cuprensi. Questi nel tempo lo hanno ampliato fino ad arrivare a 19 diorami, le così dette “scene”, che si susseguono lungo la navata della chiesa in un percorso che racconta alcuni dei momenti più salienti della vita di Gesù Cristo partendo dall’Annunciazione fino alla Resurrezione.

Le scene vengono ancora minuziosamente curate e rinnovate dagli amici del presepio poliscenico permanente secondo le regole dei maestri presepisti catalani. Il paesaggio è scolpito in gesso e le statuine sono in terracotta, le loro dimensioni variano a seconda della regola prospettica e provengono dalla Catalogna insieme alle piante che sono realizzate in piombo.

Questa grande opera è visitabile per tutta la durata dell’anno, rimane aperto nel periodo natalizio, nei mesi estivi e in occasione di altre ricorrenze locali, mentre per le visite fuori calendario è necessaria la prenotazione.

La chiesa che lo ospita risale al XVI secolo ed è parte integrante del paesaggio insieme al caratteristico campanile, databile agli inizi del Novecento e ristrutturato nel 2022, che richiama l’architettura tipica del Trentino.

The Permanent Exhibition "I Diorami dell’Annunziata" is located in the Church of the Annunziata, within the historic village of Marano in Cupra Marittima – a place rich in history and spirituality. It is a true work of art covering an area of 90 square meters; the first scenes were created at Christmas in 1976 by a group of nativity scene enthusiasts from Cupra. Over time, they expanded the exhibition to include 19 dioramas. These "scenes" are arranged along the nave of the church in a sequence that illustrates the most significant moments of Jesus Christ's life, from the Annunciation to the Resurrection.

The scenes are still meticulously maintained and renewed by the friends of the permanent nativity scene, following the rules of Catalan nativity masters. The landscapes are sculpted in plaster, and the figurines are made of terracotta. Their sizes vary according to the rules of perspective, and they come from Catalonia, along with the plants, which are made of lead.

This major work can be visited throughout the year. It is open during the Christmas period, in the summer months, and on other local occasions, while reservations are required for visits outside of these times.

The church that hosts the exhibition dates back to the 16th century and is an integral part of the local landscape, together with its characteristic bell tower, which dates to the early 1900s and was renovated in 2022 in a style that reflects the typical architecture of Trentino.
