La casa museo nasce grazie alla donazione della casa da parte del Maestro Annunzia Fumagalli, che attraverso il lascito dell’amata madre Giovanna Rimoldi, ha reso possibile la creazione del museo. Nasce dall’impegno costante del figlio Danilo che sempre ha creduto e accompagnato il padre nel farlo conoscere al mondo. Nasce nella sua Cupra Marittima per l'amore viscerale che lo legava al suo paese. Nasce per far conoscere e raccontare una persona eccezionale sotto ogni punto di vista che rese la sua vita e il suo cammino un faro di luce e un esempio di vita e arte.
NAZZARENO TOMASETTI - BIOGRAFIA
Nazzareno Tomassetti nacque a Cupra Marittima il 10 ottobre del 1921. Iniziò il suo percorso con l’apprendistato in botteghe cuprensi fino al suo arrivo alla bottega ebanista dei fratelli Fazzini, nella quale imparò l’arte dell’intarsio e dell’intaglio. La passione per l’arte e un fortuito incontro gli fecero conoscere il M° Pauri, il quale aveva affrescato la chiesa di San Basso a Cupra e che divenne suo Maestro di pittura. L’orrore della seconda guerra mondiale però arrivò a interrompere il percorso artistico dello scultore culminando con la prigionia in un campo di lavoro sul Reno. Nel '45, approfittando dei bombardamenti degli alleati riuscì infine a fuggire con altri prigionieri. Il suo viaggio verso casa durò mesi e non fu privo di stenti e di esperienze che rimasero per sempre incise nelle sue opere. Nel 1952 conobbe la sua amata musa, Anna, presente in ogni sua opera e dalla quale ebbe quattro figli. Gli anni che seguirono furono per lui dediti al lavoro di falegname, nel quale sempre affiorava il suo animo d’artista. Tra i fondatori del gruppo d’Arte L’Arca dei folli, nel 1991, espose in decine di mostre, anche all'estero, come quella al Museo Tekoské nel Castello di Levice, in Slovacchia, nel 2002. Nel 2003-05 le sue cimase, del ciclo pittorico “Amadriadi” della pittrice Annunzia Fumagalli, sono state esposte a Barcellona alla Batik Art, alla fiera del libro di Francoforte, alla fiera dell’Arte di Siviglia e a Parigi nella Galleria Espace Arsinoe di Montmartre.
Nel 2006 ha esposto ad Hong Kong, nella mostra "Le cento facce della befana" e, con l’esposizione nella sala della Lupa di Palazzo Barberini a Roma, si è aggiudicato il premio "Astrolabio".
L’anno successivo espone al Louvre di Parigi e, nel 2011, alla Triennale di Roma dove una commissione di critici e maestri d'arte gli assegnano il Riconoscimento alla Carriera. Nel 2012 viene indicato tra i maestri dell'Arte contemporanea italiana, nel libro "Manent, il libro d'oro dell'arte italiana" redatto da accademici della Sapienza di Roma e, nel marzo dello stesso anno, viene proclamato Miglior Maestro del 2012 a Cortina d'Ampezzo. Espone alla mostra "Omaggio a Caravaggio tra Epifanie e Epifenomeni" presso il Museo Venanzo Crocetti di Roma e, nell’ottobre successivo, viene indicato come Benemerito dell’Accademia d'Arte e Cultura San Lazzaro di Roma e, nel 2013, come Maestro del Giglio d'Oro con una mostra monografica al Museo Bellini di Firenze.
Il 29 ottobre 2013 espone al “Gran Galà delle arti contemporanee” e, nel 2014, nella triennale di Roma, dove viene inserito tra i maestri dell'arte estetica paradisiaca del catalogo Mondadori. Opere di Tomassetti sono state acquisite da Enti pubblici, Comuni e da collezionisti privati, in Italia e all'estero. Celebre il rilievo che raffigura il ciclista Gino Bartali, dono del maestro al campione nel 1994. Su di lui sono stati scritti libri, innumerevoli articoli e servizi su riviste e TV pubbliche e private, annuari, cataloghi e libri anche dopo la sua scomparsa.

He was born in his Cupra Marittima out of the visceral love that bound him to his country. NAZZARENO TOMASSETTI – BIOGRAPHY
Nazzareno Tomassetti was born in Cupra Marittima on October 10, 1921. He began his journey with an apprenticeship in Cuprensi workshops until his arrival at the cabinet-making workshop of the Fazzini brothers, in which he learned the art of inlay and carving. His passion for art and a fortuitous meeting introduced him to M° Pauri, who had frescoed the church of San Basso in Cupra and who became his painting teacher. The horror of the Second World War, however, came to interrupt the sculptor's artistic career, culminating in imprisonment in a labor camp on the Rhine. In '45, taking advantage of the Allied bombings, he finally managed to escape with other prisoners. His journey home lasted months and was not without hardship and experiences that remained forever engraved in his works. In 1952 he met his beloved muse, Anna, present in all his works and with whom he had four children. The years that followed were for him dedicated to the work of a carpenter, in which his soul as an artist always emerged. Among the founders of the art group “L’Arca dei Folli”, in 1991, he exhibited in dozens of exhibitions, including abroad, such as the one at the Tekoské Museum in Levice Castle, Slovakia, in 2002. In 2003-05 his cymatiums, from the pictorial cycle “Amadriadi” by the painter Annunzia Fumagalli, were exhibited in Barcelona at Batik Art, at the Frankfurt book fair, at the Seville Art fair and in Paris in the Espace Arsinoe Gallery in Montmartre.
In 2006 he exhibited in Hong Kong, in the exhibition "Le cento facce della befana and, with the exhibition in the Sala della Lupa of Palazzo Barberini in Rome, he won the "Astrolabio" prize.
The following year he exhibited at the Louvre in Paris and, in 2011, at the Rome Triennale where a commission of critics and art masters awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2012 he was indicated among the masters of contemporary Italian art, in the book "Manent, il libro d'oro dell'arte italiana" written by academics from the Sapienza University of Rome and, in March of the same year, he was proclaimed Best Master of 2012 in Cortina d'Ampezzo. He exhibited at the exhibition "Omaggio a Caravaggio tra Epifanie e Epifenomeni" at the Museo Venanzo Crocetti in Rome and, in the following October, he was listed as Meritorious of the Accademia d'Arte e Cultura San Lazzaro in Rome and, in 2013, as Master of the Golden Lily with a monographic exhibition at the Bellini Museum in Florence.
On October 29, 2013 he exhibited at the “Grand Gala of Contemporary Arts” and, in 2014, at the Rome Triennale, where he was included among the masters of the paradisiacal aesthetic art of the Mondadori catalogue. Tomassetti's works have been acquired by public bodies, municipalities and private collectors, in Italy and abroad. The relief depicting the cyclist Gino Bartali, a gift from the master to the champion in 1994, is famous. Books have been written about him, countless articles and reports in public and private magazines and TV, yearbooks, catalogues and books even after his death.
A distinguished artist and an exalted man with a sensitive and profound soul, all his grandeur and purity of feelings are reflected in all his works.
